Description: I hand crafted these videos for a series of sermons on The Parables. I wanted to create a feeling of whimsy, and to reach back to a place where most of the audience would perhaps have heard these stories as children. We filmed a time-lapse of the opening chalk drawing (which was also used for signs and branding around the sermon series). I searched for old books that would have a nostalgic feel, and then made rough paper cutouts for the animated elements, to simulate a child-like experience of playing with paper crafts. I used stop-motion photography and video stills to do rough animation.
